REPORTS: Doctor at Tuscaloosa VA Missing After Condo Collapse in Florida
A doctor practicing at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center is among those still missing after the partial collapse of a 12-story condo building in Florida Thursday according to reports from multiple news agencies.
In a story from the town of Surfside in Miami-Dade County, ABC News said three people have been found dead and 99 are still unaccounted for after most of the building caved in on itself around 1:30 Thursday morning.
A woman named Soriya Cohen told reporters that her husband, Brad Cohen, and his brother Gary Cohen were still missing after the catastrophe and she has been unable to reach either.
Annie Mapp, a reporter for Birmingham's ABC 33/40, said Thursday evening that she has confirmed that the Gary Cohen who is still unaccounted for is a doctor at Tuscaloosa's VAMC.
The other missing Cohen, Brad, is an orthopedic surgeon.
