Tuscaloosa Shooting Suspect Arrested by US Marshals in Greensboro
Police have arrested the man they believe is responsible for a shooting at a Tuscaloosa apartment complex Thursday that left another man in critical condition.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, updated local media on the case Friday morning.
Kennedy said Tuscaloosa Police officers were called to Creekside Apartments on Greensboro Avenue Thursday afternoon, where one adult male had been shot a single time.
The victim told police he was shot during a verbal argument, and was taken to an area hospital where he was reportedly in stable condition Friday.
Kennedy said the VCU took over the investigation and quickly identified 33-year-old Hakeem Dwayne Small as their suspect in this case.
Small was located and arrested by US Marshals in Greensboro, Alabama Thursday night.
Kennedy said the alleged shooter has been charged with first-degree assault and booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with no bond until a hearing with a judge at a later date.
