City of Tuscaloosa CFO Placed on Administrative Leave, Interim Named
The city of Tuscaloosa's Chief Financial Officer was placed on administrative Thursday and her deputy has been named interim CFO, a city spokesperson has confirmed to the Tuscaloosa Thread.
Richard Rush, the city's director of communications, said Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox met with members of the finance department Thursday to discuss the situation.
The city's CFO, Susan Snowden, was placed on administrative leave, Rush said.
Deputy CFO Katy Metcalfe has been named interim CFO.
Rush said neither he nor Maddox would discuss the reasons for the move, citing ongoing personnel matters.
Snowden was named Tuscaloosa's CFO in December 2018 after the retirement of Mike Wright, who spent more than 30 years in that position.
