Senator Tuberville Warns Of Another Budget Showdown Ahead
"We are going have to do this all over again at the end of January." That is the reaction Alabama Republican U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville had in an interview with Fox Business Network with the passage of a federal funding deal in the senate. It would reopen the government in exchange for a future vote on extending enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies, putting Congress on a path to end the longest shutdown in US history within days. But opposition from Democrats in the house could derail the plan.

Tuberville posted earlier on Facebook that “the American people have suffered long enough” and he was “glad the Schumer Shutdown is finally coming to an end.”
The bill passed Monday night still needs to be passed in the House and signed by President Trump. Democrats in the lower chamber have widely condemned the deal, but Republicans currently enjoy a thin majority in the House, and the bill will only require a majority vote to pass.
The office of Alabama's other GOP U.S. Senator Katie Britt posted on social media that the first term federal lawmaker kept communication channels open between The White House and congressional leaders during negotiations over the compromise bill.
Tuberville told reporters the Democrats who oppose the bill do so because they don't like President Trump. "They got to get over that, push that aside and vote for the American people." The senator who is running for governor said.
But he warned on Fox Business Network, "We are going to go through this again...the American people deserve a lot better." His solution is in agreement with the president, to bust the filibuster to keep Democrats from shutting the government down again next year.
