Troopers ID Driver Killed in Fiery Crash Outside Jasper Last Friday
A driver who was killed last week in a fiery single-vehicle crash not far from Jasper has been identified as a man from that area, Alabama State Troopers said Friday.
Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in west Alabama, said the driver has been positively identified as 34-year-old Mason L. Wood.

King said Wood crashed a 2019 Ford F-150 on Bennett Road near Zelles Road in Walker County, about eight miles north of Jasper city limits, last Friday afternoon.
The truck left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire. King said Wood's body was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science, who were ultimately able to identify the Jasper man.
King said the accident happened last Friday around 4 p.m.
