Teens Charged With Robbery For Tuesday Gas Station Shooting
An 18-year-old man and 19-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with a robbery and shooting at a gas station in West Tuscaloosa earlier this week.
Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said a victim arrived at DCH at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.
Kennedy said police determined the shooting occurred at the Exxon gas station at the 1500 Block of Martin Luther King Blvd.
The VCU interviewed the victim and gathered evidence from the scene including surveillance footage and also spoke to witnesses who saw the shooting occur.
Kennedy said two suspects have been identified and police believe they tried to rob the victim at the gas station and fired several shots at them.
Keanthony Foster, 18, has been charged with attempted murder and first-degree robbery.
Erica Leshay Thomas, 19, was charged with first-degree robbery.
Both suspects have been placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail where they are being held with no bond pursuant to Aniah’s Law.
