We are receiving reports from drivers in Tuscaloosa that an 18-wheeler and a car have collided and it is causing major delays.

Currington, along with opening act Kip Moore, arrive in Tuscaloosa on May 17, 2024, at Mercedes Benz Amphitheater. Billy Currington has been a mainstay on the country music charts since 2003.

The storms that rolled through almost all of Alabama last evening knocked out power for thousands in the Tuscaloosa area. At this time, we have not received any reports of significant damage or injuries in the region.

Local West Alabama law enforcement agencies are closing out 2023 with another push to recruit and hire for multiple positions. The Tuscaloosa Thread has already reported on the efforts to hire officers to help reverse the issue of the Tuscaloosa Police Department being understaffed in 2023. As we wrap up the year, the TPD is trying to encourage experienced officers and recruits to join the force in 2024.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will face off on New Year's Day in Pasadena against the No. 2 Ranked Michigan Wolverines.

Reviews of the concert last year were very good. A crowd from teens to older folks enjoyed every minute of this fun concert event. The excitement over last year's event led to the demand for another Christmas show. Some would say that Jackson is the number one Elvis fan because of the passion felt in his performance as the King of Rock' n' Roll.
