Thursday evening, it was announced that Sumter County schools will move to remote operation on March 18th.

According to a Facebook post made by Sumter Central High School, Superintendent Dr. Anthony Gardner announces all Sumter Country schools and the district office will move to remote operation.

The post also states that Sumter County school will begin spring break beginning on March 21st and end on March 25th.

The Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Weather Center is monitoring a system that will move across West and Central Alabama on Friday, March 18, 2022. The National Weather Service in Birmingham upgraded all of Central Alabama to a slight risk area for tomorrow's threat.
