Strange Brew Coffeehouse Opening on Tuscaloosa Strip This Weekend
Tuscaloosa's newest coffeeshop is set to open its doors on the Strip this weekend, bringing a Starkville staple to the City of Champions.
Strange Brew Coffeehouse was founded by Shane and Katelyn Reed in Starkville and has been a local favorite ever since. Shane is a Mississippi State graduate and Katelyn got her degree from the University of Alabama, so making Tuscaloosa the home of their fourth location only made good sense to the entrepreneurs.
“Ever since I graduated from the University of Alabama it has been a decade-long dream for us to open a Tuscaloosa location,” owner Katelyn Reed said. “We are so excited to support the Tide and share our coffee, baked goods, and love with Tuscaloosa and Northport!”
The coffeehouse will open Saturday at 6 a.m. at 1101 University Boulevard in the renovated service station between Galette's and the Alabama Express memorabilia store.
Patrons can expect bold colors, a unique menu and coffee that's good on the go or enjoyed in their café, with free Wi-Fi and late operating hours.
The Reeds said Strange Brew specializes in lattes, espresso drinks, crafted Frappes and teas, lemonades and baked goods. They touted their Sea Turtle latte, which comes hot, iced or frozen with the customer's choice of milk and chocolate sauce, caramel and sea salt.
Follow the coffeehouse at @strangebrewbama for updates straight from the source and check them out on the Strip after their grand opening Saturday.
