Single-Car Accident in Marengo County Kills Alabama Man

A single-vehicle crash Thursday night on Alabama 10 in Marengo County claimed the life of a 20-year-old man from Wilcox County, Alabama, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported Friday.

According to ALEA State Trooper Reginal King, the crash occurred on Alabama Highway 10 near mile marker 49, around two miles east of Dixon Mills city limits at 9:45 p.m.

Troopers say the victim, Coleman Reed Huckabee, was driving a 2005 Acura TL that left the roadway and struck a tree.

King said Huckabee, 20, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle on impact. First responders found him seriously injured on the scene and transported him to Thomasville Regional Medical Center where he died a short time later.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation, but speed is believed to the causing factor.
