After years of delays since the 2021 announcement that Crumbl Cookies would open a location in Tuscaloosa, signage suggests the gourmet bakery is finally getting set to open.

As many shoppers have already noticed, there's a new and decidedly pink look to the former home of the Simply Mac store in the Shoppes of Legacy Park off 15th Street and McFarland Boulevard.

Crumbl was a growing retail force when the news first broke a few years about, but has ballooned in size to now sell more than a 1 million desserts every day at nearly 1,100 locations across the world.

Described as the fastest-growing cookie company in the U.S., Crumbl employs more than 29,000 people.

The franchisee bringing the brand to Tuscaloosa told the Thread that an opening date should be announced sometime in April.

They'll be joining a now-healthy market of competitors, with Insomnia Cookies delivering from the Tuscaloosa Strip, chip cookies open across the street in Midtown Village and the Northport Cookie Plug serving that side of the river.
