Second AshFest to Bring 8 Hours of Music & Standup to Brewery Saturday
A festival in memory of a DCH nurse will return Saturday, bringing eight hours of music, stand-up comedy and more to Tuscaloosa's Druid City Brewing Company.
AshFest first came to the brewery last year, organized by Tuscaloosa's Jimmy Mixon in memory of his late wife Ashley Mixon, a second-career nurse.
Mixon has endowed a scholarship for second-career nurses like his late wife through the UA National Alumni Association.
On Saturday, the festival will return in her memory at Druid City Brewing in Tuscaloosa from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m.
There's a $10 suggested donation, and live acts include headliner Wanda Wesolowski, Turpie, Haunted Housecat, Zac Riverside, The 603 Band, Clockwork and more.
AshFest will also include exhibits from local artists, a presence and pets from the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter and a silent auction which kicks off at 5 p.m., where bidders can claim original artwork, event tickets, gift bags and more.
It's all happening Saturday at the second annual AshFest at Druid City Brewing Company - make plans to stop by and check it out tomorrow afternoon.
