Friends, family and volunteers will gather for another search party for Nate Short, an 88-year-old man with dementia who has been missing since Tuesday morning.

As the Thread previously reported, Short was last seen near his residence on Tom Taylor Road in Northport and is believed to have wandered off in the area of Charlie Shirley Road.

Keith Carpenter, the assistant chief of the Northport Police Department, told the Thread that law enforcement has searched the area where Short was last seen with dogs, drones, horseback searchers, ATV riders and foot patrols, but so far there has been no sign of the missing man.

Short's family said Friday morning that they will not stop searching until he is found.

A search party will gather at 8715 Tom Taylor Road at noon Friday and search through 5 p.m.

Short was last seen wearing the red and blue jacket in the featured image above over gray pants.

If anyone has any information about Short's whereabouts, they are urged to immediately call 205-614-2293 or 205-210-3849 and update Short's family.

Reports can also be made to the Northport Police Department at 205-339-6600.
