Today the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation named its preseason watch list and Alabama head coach, Nick Saban, made the list. Saban has already won this award in 2014. The 2020 winner will be announced at the Chic-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

The Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year is awarded to a coach who is successful on the field but also who emphasizes the importance of scholarship, leadership and integrity. It has been awarded each year since 1976 and Bill Curry won the award in 1989 as the only other Crimson Tide coach to win.

Saban's football team as of October 2019 achieved an 85 in Graduation Success Rate, good enough for third in the Southeastern Conference.

The Crimson Tide coach's leadership was on full display as he led his football team and student-athletes from all programs at The Capstone on a march against social injustice.

"Today I'm like a proud parent," said the accomplished coach as he spoke at the march. Saban said the movement would not be over with Monday's demonstration.

While Alabama lost four first-round draft picks from 2019's offense, the Crimson Tide still expects to field one of the nation's strongest teams. Saban will be attempting to win his seventh national championship, his sixth as the coach at Alabama.

Kyle Whittingham of Utah, Brian Kelly of Notre Dame, David Shaw of Stanford, Mike MacIntyre of Colorado and Kirk Ferentz of Iowa are the most recent winners of the award.
