Rush Propst Hospitalized with COVID-19 Pneumonia

Infamous high school football coach Rush Propst was recently admitted to a Birmingham area hospital suffering from COVID Pneumonia, according to AL.com. He told the website "It's not good" and "please pray".

The former Hoover, Colquitt, and Valdosta coach has had much publicity and notoriety as one of the best high school football coaches in the country. Propst's teams have won seven state championships, five in Alabama and two in Georgia.

Probst became somewhat of a national figure following MTV's "Two A Days" series documenting a season at Hoover while he was their coach. His only season with Valdosta is documented in the recent Netflix special "Titletown High", which premiered about a month ago.

As highly regarded as he has been for his on the field accomplishments, Propst has been almost more notorious for his off the field antics. Dating back to his time at Hoover, Propst had been accused of a myriad of misconduct. This includes changing players' grades in order to keep them eligible to play football, spying on other teams, and starting another family with a school administrator he was cheating on his wife with. Amid these scandals, he left Hoover High School in 2007 to take the job at Colquitt High School in Georgia.

His time in Valdosta was ended after a conversation leaked of Propst discussing money for players who were transferring into the district to play for him. The former president of the Valdosta Touchdown Club also accused Propst of embezzling funds from the program meant for stadium advertising, among other instances of misconduct.

He has not taken another job since leaving Valdosta, believing the recording of him was taken out of context, and hoping that "Titletown High" would shed light on his controversies at the school.
