New Tuscaloosa Telerehab & Wellness Clinic to Begin Taking Patients Next Month
A new virtual-for-now clinic will begin taking patients in West Alabama next month and celebrated the upcoming launch with a Wednesday morning ribbon-cutting.
Purple Oasis Telerehab & Wellness is still looking for a physical space to move into in the area, but had the ceremony at the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama's Workforce and Community Development Center in Tuscaloosa Wednesday.
The business belongs to Felecia Cole, who was on site to cut the ribbon and talk about the services she'll offer at Purple Oasis.

"Purple Oasis Telerehab and Wellness is located here in Tuscaloosa and right now offers virtual services for speech and language pathology," Cole said. "We also offer non-medical home health services, physical therapy, and occupational therapy."
The telehealth services will benefit those who need them in Tuscaloosa, but Cole also said she wants to serve patients in rural areas who lack access to healthcare providers.
Cole said she chose the name because purple is her favorite color - and God's! - and that she hopes to be an oasis for those who need the care they will offer.
Purple Oasis will start taking patients on September 1st, and Cole said they will accept insurance, private pay, Medicaid, and Medicare.
