Plus-Size Retailer Permanently Closes Tuscaloosa Store
Plus-size retailer Catherines will permanently close the doors of its University Mall location after its parent company Ascena Retail Group filed for bankruptcy late last month.
According to an article from the Birmingham Business Journal, the company will close 19 Catherines stores across Alabama due to its bankruptcy. Other popular retail stores owned by the same company including Lane Bryant, Ann Taylor and Justice will close some of their stores as well.
Last month, the Justice located in Midtown Village announced that it will be closing its doors within the next 30 to 60 days.
The company said that gift cards and store credit cards will continue to be accepted online as stores transition to selling clothing and accessories online.
