Folks in Tuscaloosa can grab a cold treat while performing a crucial service while the DCH Health System hosts their “Give a Pint, Get a Pint” Blood Drive today, July 3rd.

In a press release, a DCH spokesperson said the summer brings an increased demand for blood supplies, which are low all over the United States.

Today, as summer temperatures soar and the community gears up for the Independence Day holiday, DCH is offering a pint of ice cream to anyone who donates or attempts to donate blood today at their Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

DCH and LifeSouth will set up in Willard Auditorium at DCH Regional Medical Center until 4 p.m. to collect blood and help meet the season's demand.

Participants will receive a coupon redeemable for a pint of ice cream at the Patio Grille and Café inside the hospital.

Make plans to donate today to help serve the community - you never know when someone you love will need blood! - and stay connected to the Tuscaloosa Thread for coverage of more events in the area.
