Last month 41-year-old Aliceville High School math teacher Roderick Granger, was arrested by Pickens County Sherri's deputies and charged with possession of child sex abuse material, dissemination of child sex abuse material, solicitation of child sex abuse material, failure to report child abuse and an ethics violation. He remains in Pickens County Jail under a $1 million bond.

Now, three more Pickens County School System employees have been arrested on similar charges.

49-year-ol Aliceville Elementary 4th grade teacher Lakethia Wilkins was arrested by the Aliceville Police Department and booked into the Pickens County Jail on charges of possession of child pornography and using her position for personal gain.

Aliceville High School teacher, 58-year-old Winston Bishop, was arrested by Aliceville Police Monday and booked on charges of solicitation of child sex abuse material, possession of child sex abuse material, illegal distribution of a controlled substance and providing a minor with drugs.

Both Wilkins and Bishop remained in the Pickens County Jail without bond as of this afternoon.

A third Pickens County educator, Aliceville High School social studies teacher 28-year-old Antavious Belgrave was arrested by the Pickens County Sheriff's Office. He also remains the Pickens County Jail on a $1 million bond.  He was arrested February 6th and charged with felony indecent exposure, three counts of sexual misconduct, three counts of ethics violations, three counts of failure to report child abuse and three counts of felony distributing a private image.

The charges and bail amounts on all of the suspects may change after court appearances.

Based on FBI crime statistics, a significant and ongoing effort to arrest child sexual abuse offenders in Alabama has increased since 2024. Some of the most high-profile cases have been recorded in West Alabama.

Authorities advise anyone suspecting child abuse of any kind to report it to the Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR), local police or sheriff's department or the National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-422-4453.
