Patchy Freezing Fog is Possible for Portions of Alabama
You can expect a frigid night across most of Alabama. Most places will see a freeze tonight. The lows tomorrow early morning will range from 25 to 33.
The National Weather Service Birmingham advises that “patchy freezing fog is possible overnight, with the greatest potential between I-20 and I-85. Please travel with extra caution during the morning commute as visibilities could be reduced & icy patches may develop.”
What is freezing fog? It is when fog is composed of supercooled water drops. The drops freeze just after they wet a surface. I would suggest using extra caution when traveling early in the morning.
I will continue to monitor this weather scenario, and Captain Ray will have road and traffic conditions for you.
