Local law enforcement agencies and the Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority are on a holiday hunt for the Grinch before he can get away with his nefarious plans to "steal" Christmas.

In a Tuesday announcement, PARA said the Seussian scoundrel had been spotted in town and the Tuscaloosa Police Department and the County Sheriff's Office are working together to catch him before the West Alabama Christmas Parade on Monday night.

In a lighthearted press release, PARA said the Grinch was caught on camera dying the Holidays on the Plaza ice rink green and lifting lights from the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter’s tree on the Tinsel Trail.

PARA suspects it's because Libby and Lucca, two service animals, got the nod to serve as Grand Marshals in Monday's parade.

PARA said the community can chip into the lighthearted campaign by reporting any Grinch spotting to ttowngrinch@gmail.com, where they can also send letters, drawings or messages to the Grinch to help teach him the meaning of the season.
