Northport Police Officer Okay After Motorcycle Accident Friday
A Northport police officer is recovering from minor injuries after he was involved in a single-vehicle accident Friday morning.
Keith Carpenter, Chief of Northport Police, told The Thread that the accident occurred early Friday morning when an officer was riding an NPD motorcycle near the intersection of Highway 43 and McFarland Boulevard.
The officer was changing lanes when he hit an oil spill, causing the bike to slide. The officer was able to quickly set his bike down, and he only received minor injuries.
"Happy to say aside from some road rash, he's doing alright," Carpenter said.
No other vehicles or people were injured in the accident.
