On January 3, 2007 the University of Alabama introduced its new head football coach and forever changed the landscape of the sport.

Nick Saban has appeared in nine national championship games, winning six of them, won eight SEC Championship games, coached four Heisman Trophy winners and has put 39 Crimson Tide players into the first round of the NFL Draft during his 15 years with the Crimson Tide.

The accomplished Alabama coach wasn't one for reminiscing on the past during his Monday press conference ahead of his ninth national championship game appearance.

"Well, I'm 70 years old, so I don't think I have any form of dementia or anything like that. But I can't really remember what happened 15 years ago. I remember coming here. I remember it was great to have the energy and the enthusiasm, excitement that all the people sort of created," said Saban. "And that's what helped us be successful here, that energy and enthusiasm that people showed for the program and the support of the program. But other than that, I don't even remember any emotions that I had 15 years ago. Been a lot of games, a lot of third downs since that time. So it's kind of hard to remember, but it's been a very good experience here."

Many assumed Saban's tenure in Tuscaloosa would be short as he had a prior reputation of rehabilitating programs and then moving on but instead it has been a match made in heaven.
