Shopping Center to Add Whataburger, 2 New-to-Tuscaloosa Restaurants to the Strip
The University Town Center is looking to bring several new restaurants to their shopping center on the Strip just off the campus of the University of Alabama, including the city's third Whataburger.
The University shared the news in a press release from UA's News Center announcing the addition of short-term parking in both the shopping center and across Campus Drive at Publix.
In the release, UA said the shopping center is working on adding new tenants including a Whataburger, which the Thread reported last year, a Peach Cobbler Factory and a We Dat's.
The Atlanta-based Peach Cobbler Factory, as its name suggests, will offer "a large variety of premium flavors of cobbler, flavored cinnamon rolls and homemade banana pudding desserts."
We Dat's is a New Orleans quick service restaurant that offers fried chicken, catfish and shrimp in wraps and po'boys, all with the spice and flavor you would expect in the Crescent City.
The release said these tenants will make official announcements about plans to open at a later date if and when arrangements to bring them to the Strip can be finalized.
