Relax Magic, a new massage therapy center, is open now in Tuscaloosa's University Mall.

Its owner and operator Leda Stahl is originally from China and said she learned how to do massage therapy, including traditional Chinese acupressure, while enrolled in high school in her home country.

Stahl said she has been a massage therapist for around seven years and that she enjoys helping people and making them feel better.

"We're just happy to help relieve some [tightness]," said Stahl. "I actually enjoy that."

Relax Magic, which first opened on September 24, offers deep tissue massages, chair massages, foot reflexology and couples massages. Their services range from prices starting at $20 to $120 depending on the service you choose and the time amount.

The massage therapy store also uses hot rocks.

Stahl says that massage therapy can help with "body circulation and to relieve tension."

"When you press down someplace, you will fix some area," Stahl said.

Stahl said that her years of practical experience and the skills and techniques she learned in China help her to assist customers, determine what services will best suit them and carry them out.

"I have more experience," Stahl said. "Sometimes I know what they need."

Relax Magic also says on their website that their services can help "the body and mind to combat stress [and] restore the body back to balance."

New customers can also take advantage of grand opening specials at Relax Magic and get $15 off an hour-long body massage.
