A young north Alabama woman was killed Wednesday afternoon as a passenger in a single-vehicle crash that also injured two others in eastern Tuscaloosa County.

Sergeant Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said 23-year-old Alexis Rudolph was riding in a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban on Rabbitt Ridge Road near Lake View when the SUV left the roadway and struck an embankment.

Rudolph was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others - a 32-year-old driver from Vance and a 25-year-old passenger from Clanton - were also not wearing seatbelts. King said both were ejected from the vehicle and taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.

King said the crash happened about 1 p.m. Wednesday, approximately three miles south of Lake View, a town in eastern Tuscaloosa County and western Jefferson County.

No other details were available on Thursday and King said Troopers continue to investigate.
