Moundville Police are investigating a fatal shooting on County Line Road Friday afternoon.

Moundville Chief of Police Toby Banks said officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 2:50 p.m. on County Line Road. When they arrived, they discovered a 47-year-old white male shot once in the abdomen.

Family members were attempting CPR as medical teams arrived. The victim was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment, but did not survive is injuries.

After interviewing the suspect and others in the area, police took Dillon Duncan, 25, into custody. He was charged with murder and has been placed in the Hale County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

Chief Banks said Duncan was a family member of the shooting victim, and had been involved in a family dispute at the time of the shooting.
