Alabama is set to take on the Missouri Tigers in its season opening game this Saturday at Faurot Field. Last week, first-year head coach of the Tigers, Eli Drinkwitz announced his team would be without 12 scholarship players due to COVID-19 protocols. After meeting with the media today, Drinkwitz clarified that after more testing the Tigers would only be without just seven players  after several players were removed from the quarantine list.

This increases the likelihood that the game will in fact go on as previously scheduled this Saturday as Missouri is expecting 69 scholarship players to be available to take on the Tide. The SEC announced last week the minimum roster requirements for schools to play games.

While Drinkwitz has plenty of scholarship players available for this weekend's game as a whole there was some concern that the recent quarantining could affect a certain position group to such a degree that it would put the game in jeopardy.

Missouri has not confirmed who will or won't be available to play this weekend for sure but Drinkwitz revealed to the media last week that he had to make adjustments at left guard throughout the prior week.

Alabama is not missing anyone due to COVID-19 testing and protocols going into the initial game against Missouri. Coach Nick Saban revealed that they only injuries the Tide is dealing with is junior college cornerback Ronald Williams, who fractured his arm in fall camp, and defensive lineman Christian Barmore, who is recovering from a knee procedure.

The Tide and Tigers are set to kick off at 6 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 26, keep it locked into Tide 100.9 FM all day Saturday for game coverage!
