Mississippi Man Wanted for Murder of Elderly Landlord Caught in West Alabama
A man believed to be involved in the murder of his 85-year-old landlord was captured in West Alabama Friday after a chase through Pickens and Tuscaloosa Counties.
Deputy Jessica McDaniel, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, said their agency was called Friday as a driver fleeing from police in Pickens County approached TCSO jurisdiction.
McDaniel said the driver, now known to be 39-year-old Larry Findley, crossed into Tuscaloosa County on Highway 82 West at Cooper Road and local deputies joined in the pursuit.
The chase ran back into Pickens County, where Findley reportedly wrecked his vehicle near Sand Springs Road before he was taken into custody.
O'Brian was found fatally shot on Wednesday afternoon and Findley, who was renting from him, was quickly developed as a suspect. A manhunt was underway until Friday afternoon -- police in Mississippi have now confirmed the suspect arrested in West Alabama was Findley.
