McCalla Man Charged With Having & Sharing Obscene Material
An east Tuscaloosa County man has been arrested and charged with more than a dozen sex crimes after investigators said they found he both possessed and shared illegal pictures and videos of children.
According to court documents filed on Tuesday, 37-year-old Douglas McArthur House uploaded obscene material depicting children to a messaging platform back in July 2024.

That led eventually to a warrant-backed search of House's residence in McCalla, where police investigators found a cell phone on which they allegedly found more than a dozen illegal files.
In Alabama, each photo or video depicting child pornography merits a separate felony charge, and sharing or disseminating them is also its own felony.
House was charged with nine counts of possessing obscene material depicting children and four counts of disseminating in.
He was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on Monday and remained there without bond on Wednesday.
