A man is fighting for his life at DCH Regional Medical Center Thursday night after a hit-and-run in downtown Tuscaloosa's Temerson Square, according to a spokeswoman for the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

Stephanie Taylor, TPD's public information officer, said the victim was struck by a white vehicle around 10:22 p.m. Thursday.

Taylor said the victim was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries she called life-threatening.

Taylor said TPD Chief Brent Blankley was with other TPD officers at the scene, and said the department's Accident Reconstruction Unit and Cyber Intel Unit are reviewing video footage and interviewing witnesses to identify the driver responsible.

The news comes less than a week after four victims and one suspect were wounded in a shooting outside of Roxy's bar and nightclub in Temerson Square.
