Man Fatally Struck by Train in Tuscaloosa, Foul Play Not Suspected
A man was found dead after being struck by a train on East McFarland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa Saturday night, police said Monday morning.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said Tuscaloosa Police officers were called to the 1200 block of East McFarland Boulevard around 9:30 Saturday. There, investigators discovered the body of a man who had been struck by a train moving through the area.
Kennedy said the VCU has begun an investigation, but said the subject was alone at the time of the accident, and no foul play is suspected.
No further details will be released out of privacy concerns and respect for the victim's family, Kennedy said.
