
Man Fatally Shot at Tuscaloosa’s Creekwood Village Apartments
A man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in Tuscaloosa late Saturday night, police told local media, marking the first homicide of the new year in the city.
2024 was a record-breaking year, with 22 homicides in Tuscaloosa accounting for most of the 29 in the broader Tuscaloosa County.

Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, alerted local media to the new killing around 12:45 a.m. Sunday.
Sellers said the VCU and the Tuscaloosa Police Department are on the scene of a fatal shooting at Creekwood Village Apartments in west Tuscaloosa. An adult male is dead.
No other information was immediately available before dawn Sunday morning.
