Mae Evelyn Adams died February 1, 2022, in her home in Sturgis, Mississippi. She was 61 years old and lived a full life of happiness.

Mae was born February 21, 1960, in Moundville, Alabama to Walter Dove Montgomery and Clara Mae Thacker.

Mae married David Howard Adams of Moundville on April 19, 1978, who preceded her in death on July 23, 2015. She gave birth to three children who survive her, daughter; Alana Adams, son; Dan Adams and his wife April Adams, and son; Allen Adams and his wife Keri Adams.

She enjoyed many things in life to include camping, fishing, riding motorcycles, but most of all, she enjoyed the absolute love of all who were blessed to know her.

Mae, Mama Mae as many knew her, loved her job as the head cook at Restaurant Tyler in Starkville, Mississippi, where there wasn't a person who didn't enjoy her presence. She was blessed with an approachable personality and was bursting at the seams with love.

Mama Mae is preceded in death by her mother and father, and her brothers; Irvin Montgomery, Tobby Montgomery, and Sidney Montgomery.

She is also survived by her other siblings, brother; Leon Montgomery, sisters; Betty Cox , Faye Miller, and Renee Montgomery. She is also survived by her 7 grandkids: Miranda Leek, Chasity Cook, Veronica Cook, Xeia Williams, Lana Adams, Dakota Williams, and Landyn Adams.

A 2:00 pm service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Magnolia Chapel South with Bro. Chuck Weaver officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the chapel.

Pallbearers will be T.J. Lollar, Nathan Lollar, Dustin Ingram, Adam King, Joshua Gwaltney, and Michael Cook. Honorary Pallbearer is Landyn Adams.
