LIVE RESULTS: Polls Close in Special Election for House District 63 in Tuscaloosa
Polls have closed in Tuesday's special election to fill a vacant seat in District 63 in the Alabama House of Representatives.
The race was held to replace former Rep. Cynthia Almond in the House after Governor Kay Ivey appointed her to serve as President of the Public Service Commission, which oversees the state's utility providers.

The district is geographically small and located in the heart of Tuscaloosa County. It includes the University of Alabama campus and much of north Tuscaloosa.
The special election pits incumbent Tuscaloosa City Councilman Norman Crow as the Republican nominee against Judith Taylor, the chair of the Tuscaloosa Democratic Party.
Polls closed at 7 p.m., and results are expected soon from the Alabama Secretary of State as ballots are counted from the eight polling places in District 63. We'll update them in real-time below.
Republican Norman Crow: 1,112 (64 percent)
Democrat Judith Taylor: 613 (36 percent)
