The City of Orange Beach, Alabama has closed a popular public beach at Perdido Pass in an effort to enforce social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City made the announcement Friday, March 5, stating that the Alabama Point East section of the public beach will remain closed until further notice.

"This section of state beach at Perdido Pass by the bridge was closed last season as well and greatly helped the city and state's efforts to reduce crowding on the beach during the pandemic," the city stated.
