He said Tuscaloosa Police and the VCU are at Rosedale Apartments, where a juvenile has been shot and is critically injured.
The Apartments are on Robert Glenn Drive, off Tuscaloosa's 10th Avenue in the central area of the city.
UPDATE, 5 p.m.: Sellers said police were called to the shooting at 11:30 a.m.
A juvenile at the apartments was shot in the chest, Sellers said.
"After speaking with witnesses and reviewing evidence it was found that the victim and another juvenile male got into a fight," Sellers said. "During the fight a juvenile female produced a gun and shot the victim. The victim was unable to make a statement due to being treated by medical personnel for his injuries. Witnesses and the suspect gave details of the incident."
Sellers said the juvenile female was charged with Attempted Murder as well as Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm and held at Juvenile Detention.
The male that was involved in the fight with the victim was charged with Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm. He was held at Juvenile Detention also.
Sellers said the victim’s condition is stable at this time.
Due to the ages of the victim, suspect and others who are involved no identifying information can be released about any of the involved parties, the VCU said.
