Judy Faith McAteer (July 31st, 1975 – January 30th, 2025)

Judy Faith McAteer, age 49, of Cottondale, went home to Jesus on January 30, 2025, at DCH Hospital.

Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with services to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Faith was born July 31st, 1975, in Akron, Alabama. The family moved to Holt when Faith was young where she graduated from Holt High School. She has worked many kinds of jobs over her life, from substitute teacher to forklift driver, but the one she most excelled at was mother and wife.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Scott, her three children, James, Sean, and Stephanie (Elijah), her granddaughter River (1), her siblings Henrietta Squires, Lisa Kirkley (Billy), Dewey George, Christine Odom (Caleb), and Joy Knapp (Donald) and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Judy George, her sister Bonnie Sanders (David), brother Benjamin, and granddaughter, Kiria McAteer.

Faith was loving and kind to everyone. Although shy, once she got to know you, you had someone who would always be there for you. She was fiercely protective of her children and all the people she cared for. The world will be a little darker without her light in it.
