The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is set to resurface, install guardrails, and add new traffic striping on SR-216 in Tuscaloosa County. This project will stretch from the junction of SR-215 to Lock 17 Road in Brookwood, aiming to improve mobility and safety.

The 11.6-mile project is slated to commence on Monday, July 15, and is expected to continue until the end of the year, weather permitting. Traffic through the work zone will be managed by flaggers and/or a pilot car.

To minimize traffic disruptions, lane closures will be restricted between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on weekdays. Additionally, there will be no lane closures on weekends when the University of Alabama has home football games.

APAC-Alabama has been awarded the $5.16 million contract for the project. Motorists should anticipate possible delays and are encouraged to follow work-zone speed limits.
