Northport residents looking to stay active this summer and fall will have the opportunity to participate in free outdoor fitness classes at the city's Community Fitness Court.

The classes begin Saturday, July 11, and will continue through Nov. 14 at the Fitness Court located at the Western Levee Trailhead, 3950 3rd Street in Northport.

Workouts will be held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at 8 a.m. and are open to anyone ages 14 and older. No registration or previous fitness experience is required.

The classes will be led by Kayla Eubanks, a National Fitness Campaign Certified Fitness Court Trainer. Organizers say each workout is designed to be beginner-friendly while accommodating participants of all fitness levels.

The Community Fitness Court provides a variety of exercise stations that allow participants to improve strength, balance, agility and overall fitness in an outdoor setting.

Organizers encourage anyone interested in becoming more active to simply show up ready to exercise and learn how to use the Fitness Court equipment in a supportive group environment.
