Stillman College Hall of Fame Class of 2027 Nominations Now Open

Stillman College has a rich athletic history, shaped by athletes, coaches, teams, and supporters. Now, the community has an opportunity to help ensure those accomplishments and contributions are remembered and celebrated.

The Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame honors outstanding achievements and participation in sports at Stillman College while also inspiring current and future student-athletes to pursue excellence.

There is still time to nominate a deserving Stillman College athlete, coach, contributor, or team for a place among the College’s athletic greats. Nominations for the Class of 2027 are due Monday, August 31, with the selection process beginning in September.

“The Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held annually during Homecoming Week. The induction ceremony for Class of 2027 will be Friday, Feb. 12, 2027,” said the press release. “Inductees will also be recognized at the Stillman College Homecoming basketball games in Birthright Alumni Hall on Feb. 13, 2027.”

Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame Eligibility

The following requirements were provided by Stillman College Athletics.

STUDENT-ATHLETE

All former athletes must meet the following criteria to be eligible for nomination into Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame. No more than 10 inductees will be selected in any given year subject to the following criteria:

1. Must have graduated from Stillman College or nominee must have departed Stillman College to enter a professional playing career after one or more years at the college.
2. Must be in good standing at Stillman College (i.e., with no student debt or other college-related debts to the college).
3. Must have lettered in at least one varsity sport at Stillman College.
4. Must have been out of competition for five (5) or more consecutive years
5. Must have won/been awarded at least one of the following - National Championship, Conference Championship, All-American or All-Conference honor or Player of the Year and/or
6. Must hold the school record in at least in at least one positive category in their respective sport such as rebounds, three point shots, yards gained, touchdowns, kill shots, blocks, record in a particular category of race, strikeouts, stolen bases, home runs, or alike

COACHES

To qualify for entrance into the Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame, former or current Coaches much meet the criteria outlined below:

1. Must have served as a Head Coach at Stillman College for at least five (5) years.
2. Must have coached at least one championship team, (conference, regional or national) and/or
3. Must have won at least 50 percent of games played during his/her coaching Tenure at Stillman College.
4. Must have contributed significantly to the progress and development or his/her community.
5. Provided extraordinary service and or support to the athletics program or whose achievements are recognized by the President of the University as being worthy of consideration into the Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame.

CONTRIBUTORS

This category celebrates those individuals — or groups of individuals — who have made outstanding and historical contributions to Stillman College athletics outside of competition. (There is no time limit for induction in this category) A maximum of two may be inducted per year.
