Real-Time Alabama Hazardous Weather Updates
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said that a "band of strong thunderstorms is pushing into the northwest corner of Alabama at mid-afternoon; these storms are producing small hail and gusty winds. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the western half of the Tennessee Valley until 8p CT."
According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, there is the possibility of "Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible across Central Alabama 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. today. Threats are damaging wind gusts and hail."
Possible Threats
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said the primary threats are “damaging winds up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail.”
