We've had multiple announcements in recent months from Culver's (famous for butterburgers), Golden Corral, and Beef O'Brady's. Now comes another announcement that a popular fast-casual chain will roll into Tuscaloosa later this year. The restaurant, "Barberitos," is famous for "the better burrito."

Tuscaloosa will not be the only new location in Alabama. The owner of "Barberitos" said an agreement had been reached to bring five locations into Alabama. Birmingham seems to be the other city already confirmed for a new location.

The chain is based in Georgia and has expressed a desire to grow across the Southeast. They serve burritos, tacos, quesadillas, bowls, salads, and other items. Alabama businessman Kevin Gessert has spearheaded the effort to bring the chain to Tuscaloosa and Birmingham.

The idea for the restaurant was developed when founder Downing Barber tried eating a diet without a budget. Barber noticed that a restaurant in Aspen, Colorado, was always packed because of its low prices for hearty meals. Thus, the concept for "Barberitos" was born in January of 2000.

LOOK: 20 Discontinued McDonald's Menu Items You'll Never See Again

Discontinued McDonald's items tell the story of eight decades of quiet experiments, from a pizza that took too long to cook to a lobster roll that never made financial sense. Some disappeared overnight with no explanation, others were cut to streamline operations, and a few became cultural phenomena long after they were gone.
