Bibb County put itself in the region driver’s seat with a 22-20 comeback win at American Christian Academy. The Choctaws scored the final 19 points.
Tuscaloosa County went to Trussville with a chip on its shoulder and came back with a 42-7 loss.
Central won its third straight and is now 2-0 in region play after blasting Brookwood at home 40-8.
Northridge got a big road win at Bessemer City 34-15.
Tuscaloosa Academy continued to roll as the Knights got another big passing game from Preston Lancaster and ruined Green County’s homecoming, 48-7.
Gordo shut out Midfield at home 42-0 behind a big game from Ethan Wilder, who returned a kickoff for six points and caught a touchdown pass.
Hillcrest continued to crush its opposition as the Pats pummeled the Golden Gophers of Hueytown, 35-6.
The Northside Rams got a big region win with a dominating 55-14 home win over Curry.
Pickens County looks poised for a playoff run after Michael Williams’ Tornadoes pulverized Berry 44-7.
Aliceville and Tyquan Simon took down Francis Marion 46-14 for the Jackets’ first win.
Hale County shut out Holt 41-0 as the Ironmen continue to struggle.
Sipsey Valley edged West Blocton 28-27 behind quarterback LJ Cormier.
Marion County won at Holy Spirit 30-20.
McAdory dominated Paul Bryant 48-0 in McCalla.
Fayette County beat Carbon Hill convincingly 40-0.
St. James of Montgomery did the same to Greensboro, 49-21.
In Thursday night eight-man play, Tuscaloosa Christian upset top-ranked visiting Russell Christian 22-14. The Warriors got big games from Jaeden Yeager and Luke Jones in the win.
In the Birmingham area, Vestavia upset Hoover 26-7 and the Bucs are 1-3 to start the season.
Freshman quarterback Trent Seaborn led top-ranked in 7A Thompson over Spain Park, 55-16.
