Jeremiah Beaman "In a Really Good Place"

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama dealt with injuries along the defensive line early last season, with Tim Keenan III missing the first three games of the season and Jeremiah Beaman tearing his ACL during practice leading up to the Tide's 73-0 victory over ULM in week 2.

Beaman worked back to play for the Crimson Tide this season and has a chance to earn a starting role on Kane Wommack's defensive line, but the process of how he returned to be able to play defensive line in the SEC is a testament to his work ethic and Alabama's training staff.

"He's worked really, really hard to get himself back. And especially, you think about a knee injury, it's hard for anybody, but when you're talking about a big frame like that, a big body to be able to put himself in position to where he can pound and move and shift and all that stuff," Wommack said, "and then obviously, you're going to get 600 pounds of double team on you. And so there is a lot of work and effort to get to that position where that knee can be healthy and stable. And so, I make no bones about it. Jeff Allen and his staff, they're the best in the world at what they do, and so our guys have done a really good job. But Beaman's. Beaman's in a really good place right now. Proud of him."

Alabama will return to the practice field on Monday, August 10. The Tide will open the season on Saturday, September 5, against East Carolina.
