Ex-Alabama Punter Inks Deal With Los Angeles Chargers
Former Alabama fan favorite J.K. Scott is returning to Los Angeles, agreeing to a 2-year $4 million deal to handle the punting duties for the Chargers, per ESPN insider Adam Schefter.
As a member of the Crimson Tide from 2014-2017, Scott was called on to punt 243 times, amassing a total of 11,074 yards with his career-long being a 73-yard punt during his senior season. Scott was also named to three All-SEC teams during his time in Tuscaloosa.
Scott was selected by the Green Bay Packers with the 172nd overall pick in 2018. Scott spent three seasons in Green Bay before being cut before the 2021 season.
On December 31st, Scott signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars' active roster, appearing in one game.
In March of 2022, Scott signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. Scott appeared in all 17 games for the Chargers, punting 73 times for over 3000 yards.
Now, one of the most beloved players in program history has found his home in L.A.
