Tide 100.9's on-site coverage of high school football is presented by The University of Alabama Online, "Where Legends Log In."

The Andalusia Bulldogs came to Tuscaloosa and bullied the American Christian Academy Patriots, 31-7, with a dominate run game and stifling defense.

The Bulldogs were without 2024 4-star running back J'Marion Burnette, who suffered a concussion in their 25-10 win over Jackson High School. That didn't seem to slow them down at all.

Junior running back/linebacker Dorian Crittendon started the night off strong with eight carries for 53 yards and a touchdown on the games opening drive.

After a short drive by the Patriots, Crittendon took the opening snap of Andalusia's second drive, broke through several arm tackles, and sped down the sideline for a 62 yard touchdown. The extra point failed, bringing the Bulldogs lead to 13-0.

The Patriots still couldn't get anything going and were forced to punt again, but were gifted a muffed punt by Tycameron Jackson taking over at the Bulldogs 24 yard line.

Cameron Sute was able to find Bubba Lester in the back of the endzone to bring the Patriots within six points.

The Partiots seemed to have a little bit of life getting an interception by Eric Hines on the following drive that he returned inside the five-yard line. Unfortunately, they weren't able to capitalize on the field position and missed a field goal try from thirty yards out.

With the ball back, the Bulldogs started to drive with a seventeen yard run from freshman running back Zerrick Jones, then potential disaster.

After an awkward tackle, Crittendon swung striking a Patriots player leading to his ejection, finishing his night with eleven carries for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

The Bulldogs then got a false start penalty but junior quarterback Jack Lathrop was able to find senior WR Kaden Denson for a 56 yard touchdown. The Bulldogs went for two, giving Andalusia a 21-7 lead with five minutes left in the first half. The visitors tacked on a late field for a 24-7 lead going into the half.

The second half was a defensive struggle. Both teams defenses stifled each others offense.

The Bulldogs' Parker Adams intercepted a pass, pulling the ball away from ACA receiver Davis Dare, stopping the Patriots' best scoring opportunity of the second half.

Then, late in the fourth quarter, Lathrop hit Denson again from 10 yards out to give Andalusia their final points of the night.

Lathrop finished the night 6-for -10 with 108 yards and two scores as Denson finshed with three catches, 74 yards and two touchdowns.

Andalusia Head Coach Trent Taylor talked about how he was proud of the way his team performed despite the injuries and self-inflicted harm, "It was sloppy on both sides and but Coach Williams (offensive coordinator) had a great gameplan and it was executed well tonight and the goal-line stop when it was 13-7 was huge. Overall proud of the way we played tonight."

American Christian Head Coach Cody Martin after the loss stated, "I was extremely proud of the way we played all year. Losing twenty-two seniors a lot of people wrote us off. Winning the region. 9-3 is a great year. They were the better team tonight."

Andalusia 11-1 will play Anniston next week in the quarterfinals.
