Alabama continues its additions via the transfer portal, with Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports reporting that Louisiana running back transfer Dre'lyn Washington has committed to Alabama.

Washington toted the rock 73 times for 478 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 6.5 yards per carry during the 2024 season with the Ragin' Cajuns.

He also added six catches for 107 yards and one touchdown in the receiving game.

During four seasons with Louisiana, he has totaled 229 carries for 1,343 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging 5.9 yards per carry with a career-long run of 64 yards. In the receiving game, Washington caught 14 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns during his three-year tenure at Louisiana.

Washington, a 5-foot-9, 225-pound running back, was rated as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class out of Hemphill High School in Hemphill, Texas. He held three offers coming out of high school, with Arkansas State, Louisiana, and the Lamar Cardinals offering him a scholarship. He committed to Louisiana in July 2020 and signed with the Ragin' Cajuns in December 2020.
