Four Tide Stars Named Preseason All-American

Alabama Football may have lost several players to the transfer portal following the retirement of head coach Nick Saban, but it doesn't mean the Tide is devoid of talent on the roster.

The Crimson Tide has some question marks, but two positions are solidified - safety and offensive guard.

Malachi Moore is entering his fifth season with Alabama, and Tyler Booker is entering his fourth. Both players have been named to several postseason award watchlists already this preseason, and they both received one more honor before the season starts.

Moore, Booker, Graham Nicholson, and Parker Brailsford have all been named preseason All-Americans by The Sporting News.

Nicholson is the defending Lou Groza Award winner from 2023, edging out Alabama kicker Will Reichard for the award. Nicholson transferred to Alabama in the spring transfer portal window following spring practice.

Brailsford finished second last season for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award. Then-Alabama safety Caleb Downs won the award.

Brailsford started all 15 games for Washington last season and was the center for the offensive line that won the Joe Moore Award. He transferred to Alabama following Kalen DeBoer being hired by Alabama on January 12.

Brailsford did not participate in on-field work this spring with Alabama but looks to have solidified his starting role on Alabama's offensive line this season.
