Holidays on the Plaza Returns to Downtown Tuscaloosa from Late November to Mid-January
Holidays on the Plaza, the City of Tuscaloosa's seasonal winter wonderland, will make its return to Government Plaza on November 21 and will run until January 16.
According to a press release announcing its return, the event will feature outdoor ice skating, the Tinsel Trail of decorated Christmas trees, which benefits Tuscaloosa's One Place, private parties and other holiday festivities.

The ice skating and Tinsel Trail events were moved from the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater and Riverwalk to Government Plaza last season, which Mayor Walt Maddox said yielded a 68% increase in skater participation.
"We are excited for the return of Holidays on the Plaza, and can't wait to see how it continues to be a favorite holiday tradition for Tuscaloosa families and visitors," Maddox said in the release.
Birthday and corporate party rental packages are currently available and can be booked by visiting www.holidaysontheplaza.com where those interested can submit an event request.
Admission to the transformed Government Plaza is free, but guests must purchase skate passes to access the iced-over rink -- those are scheduled to go on sale on November 14.
